Staring Out as a Wood Elf (EQ Races)

Wood Elves start out in the city of Kelethin. It is a city built high up in the trees made up of many platforms which are connected by wooden bridges.

The first thing to do is find your guild master, who should be close by to your starting location. If you right click your note that you will start with it should tell you. When you give the note to him (drag it onto him and click give) you will receive a tunic and probably a small quest or instructions to find someone who can give you the quest.

As all the quests are different I will explain how to find the hunting grounds. As you are exploring you will find a large red board saying Welcome to Greater Faydark, next to it will be a small column with a wooden block sticking out of the top. When you click the block it will raise, or lower the 'lift'. If there is no platform next to this block the lift is down, so if you wait a few seconds it should come back up.

When you go down the lift, if you find the Priest of Discord, or a road going to your left and right, you are at the hunting grounds. Here you can fight bats, wasps and orc pawns until around level 4. Remember to sell their loot to merchants to get some coin.

If when you go down the lift you find a road which leads straight ahead, this is the orc lift. You will need to be at least level 5 to hunt here so it is best to go back up and search for another lift.

When you reach 5 you can go to Orc Lift which you may have some idea of its location by now. If you go down the road you should find orc pawns and centurions, you can hunt these all the way up to level 8. By level 8 most won't give very good experience and its time to head into Crushbone Dungeon. If you follow the road all the way down it should lead you to the entrance.

When you enter the dungeon, head to the left to a small wooden bridge, you can usually hunt here until level 10 or 11. By now you if you have explored a bit you should have an idea where to go next in the dungeon. Remember to keep the orc belts and pads, these can sell to other players for well needed platinum or you can turn them in yourself to Canloe Rusback in Kaladim.

To reach Canloe Rusback it means a trip to Butcher Block mountains. The first thing to do is go to Felwithe, you can reach Felwithe if you return to the newbie lift, and follow the road in the opposite direction. As you run down you will find Felwithe, from there continue following the road, eventually you will come to the spires (4 large columns with points going upwards into the sky). Continue following the road from the spires. After a minute or two you will zone into Butcher Block mountains. Carry on following the road and always take the right fork, after 5 minutes or so you will come to a large wall, with a big dwarf statue above the entrance. This is Kaladim. When you enter, if you stick to the left you will come to the warrior guild. Canloe Rusback is on the lowest floor, in his own room at the end of a passage. After some exploring you will find him.

Give him the belts as many as you like at a time, but with the pads make sure you give him either 2 or 4, single pads give no reward. Now to return to Butcher Block go the same way as you arrived at the warrior guild. When you zone into Butcher Block, the road leads left and right. To the right is the docks, you can catch a boat to Freeport from there, and to the left you can return to Greater Faydark. If you continue following the road left, always taking the left fork you will eventually zone back into Greater Faydark. To get back to Kelethin follow the same route as you did to arrive at the Butcher Block zone.
