All of the game information not shown in other windows will enter your Main Chat window. This includes the games output messages during combat and spell casting, and the various chat channels available.

The five basic channels are:

SAY = Say (command /say message)

GROUP = Group (command /g message)

OOC = Out of Character (command /ooc message)

SHOUT = Shout (command /shout message)

AUCTION = Auction (command /auction message)

Chat Window Menus

When you right click on a Chat Window it opens up a menu. In this menu you can choose to create another Chat Window and to Rename it. You also have four other options, Filters, Channel, Language and Hit Modes.

The four options

The four bottom options available allow you to specify what the Chat Window is used for. Filters (shown left) will change what messages will appear in that window.

The * next to the option means that it is selected and that categories messages will be sent to that window.

The channel option specifies what will happen if you just type into the input box at the bottom of the Chat Window and press enter. If say is selected then your text will appear as a Say, if group is selected then your text will be sent to your group, and so on.

Language specifies what in game language you want to speak in. Only those languages you have a knowledge in can be spoken. Others that hear your messages will only be able to properly understand them if they also have a good knowledge of them.

Poorly spoken words will appear as somewhat garbled text, the true letters will be replaced.
