Starting Out as a Dwarf (EQ Races)

Kaladim is divided into two parts, South and North.

The Butcher Block Mountains entrance, Warrior Guild, Arena and Palace are located in South Kaladim, in North Kaladim you will find a bank and the Cleric and Paladin Guilds.

When your ready to hunt you will Want to leave South Kaladim and enter Butcher Block. When you leave the tunnel and enter Butcher Block you will see two guards at either side of the entrance. You can run back to them if you get in trouble.

Try to stay near to the entrance to begin with so that you will know where you are. At level 1 you should find snakes, decaying dwarf skeletons, bats and goblin whelps are good choices. Becareful of the decaying dwarf skeletons with weapons as they can be a little tougher than the others.

When you reach level 2 the skunks and rock spiderlings will be better targets but Krag Chicks will need level 3 or 4. Once you reach level 4 or early level 5 you will find the skunks and odd goblin grunt while ok, don't offer much experience. Here you could stay in Butcher Block and try to find suitable targets but the best option is to travel to Greater Faydark and fight orcs.

The easiest way to do this is by following the road from Kaladim. To start off you will need to be at the entrance to Kaladim, face outwards into Butcher Block and take the road heading left. Keep following the road and take any left turn that you see.

On the way you will see a guard post and at this point there is no road going straight on, as stated earlier take the left road. You will find large snakes and giant bats that are good hunting for a level 5. You could stay here till level 6, possibly 7, and then move on, or head straight to Greater Faydark.

If you continue down the road always taking a left turn if available (make sure you are facing the right way if you took a detour to fight snakes), and after a little time you will find the road leads into a route through a set of muddy walls. Head in here and you will zone into Greater Faydark. When you enter the zone pick up the road which is a little forward of the entrance.

Continue down the road and don't take any of the 'forks' or turnings, stay on the road and carry on going straight ahead. You will come to white towers or "spires", in the middle of them will be someone named Nexus Scion. Here turn and face directly north, it is important that you are head exactly north. When you reach a road head left. You will come to a wooden ramp, it may or may not have guards standing beside it.

On top of the ramp is a pillar with a button on it, if you press the button a lift will come down to be level with the ramp. This lift will take you to the tree city of kelethin. For now pick up the road again which is a little ahead of the lift.

When you reach the end of the road there will be another ramp, stand at the foot of the ramp and again head directly North. You will see a tree with a very wide base, and a little infront of that, another ramp. The ramp is called 'Orc Lift'. Infront of the ramp is another road, this road leads to the orc areas in Greater Faydark.

You may want to continue North from the end of the road to the entrance of the Crushbone Dungeon, or hunt near the orc tents around the road. The orc tents can support you past level 8, while Crushbone is suitable from about level 6 to 20.
