Starting Out as an Erudite - Erudin (EQ Races)

Erudin, like the Dwarven city of Kaladim, is split into two parts. Erudin Palace and Erudin City. Erudin Palace houses the bank while most of the other shops and guilds are located in Erudin City.

At the south end of Erudin City is Toxxulia Forest. When your ready head south and zone into Toxxulia. (You will need to step on some shimmering blue teleport pads in order to get to the zone)

When you enter the zone you will see it is quite an open area, the level 1 monsters wander around sometimes close to the Erudin entrance and at others near the other side of the zone. The only way to hunt is to be careful about your targets and try to stay out of the way of the ones that are higher than you.

At level 1 snakes and kobold runts should be reasonably easy. While you can stay in Toxxulia easily until level 3 or so, it is a fairly poor newbie zone and it makes sense to move a better zone. For this guide we will take the boat to Qeynos.

Head south back into Erudin City. When you zone in walk over the teleport pads back to the main part of the city then follow the wall right, you will go up a set of stairs then down a grassy ramp, and after a little time up another set of stairs. On the right of the second set is another teleport pad, this leads to Erudin Docks, step on it.

After walking over the pad you will see a small waterfall (a little more like a hole in the wall water is coming out of), when facing this, again take the wall to the right, after some time you will come to an opening. This is the docks, follow the promenade (decking/harbour road) around until you find the wooden planks. At the end of this wooden decking the fencing has a hole, to the right of this hole is a stone barge. Wait on this until a boat arrives, the ship will stop some way out from the docks, when it does the stone barge will move forward to meet the ship, walk onboard.

After a little time the ship will zone into Erud's Crossing, then into South Qeynos. After a short wait the boat will sail the small distance to Qeynos Docks, when it reaches them and the ship stops walk onto the harbour decking.

Then follow the wall left until you zone into North Qeynos. When you do head North and you will come to a form of double entrance after a small 'passage'. Out of the entrance you should be able to see it opens out into a big grassy area.

Mainly from fighting beetles you can reach level 5 in this area, but when your ready it is best to move into Qeynos Hills. Head North from the grassy area outside North Qeynos. You can fight bats, snakes and wolves until around level 7 or 8 or just continue on. Head north along the road until you reach another entrance with two guards beside it. This is Surefall Glade.

From the entrance to Surefall Glade face outwards into the Hills, then follow the zone wall to the left. You will come across an entrance after some time running with one or two fairly weak Gnolls outside. When you are ready for something harder then them you can venture inside the entrance. It leads to Black Barrow which is reasonable leveling up to level 15 or so, by which time you should have a good idea of where to head next, Good Luck!
