Starting Out as an Ogre (EQ Races)
Oggok is a fairly large city all located in a single zone. There is only one
way out of Oggok and that is into the Feerott, when your ready to hunt head South East and you will come to the
entrance to Feerott.
Once you zone in you will see two guards (bouncers) at either side of the entrance and a road a
little ahead. You will want to head down the road in any direction you like and fight any snakes,
froglok tads and lizard men broodlings you find. If you want to return to Oggok it is roughly
North, North West. The monsters in the Feerott are quite spread out and you will
need to roam around the zone to find them. While roaming is a good idea its best to stay near the buildings to
begin with.
Be careful of the bear cubs, jungle spiderlings and decaying skeletons which are better for level
2 or 3. A little East of Tailor Murgas hut and North East of the Plane of Knowledge teleport book
you will find a small camp of lizardman scouts and the occasional forager. They can take you to
level 5 fairly easily.
There is another lizard man camp with seemingly more frequent forager spawns close to the
middle of the East Wall of the Feerott. The lizard men here as in the scout camp don't help each
other when attacked.
There is also a reasonably sized jungle spiderling camp and even the odd jungle spider near the
North East corner of the Feerott, which can support you up to level 5 or 6. Be careful
with the spiders because unlike the lizard men they will assist each other.
When you reach level 6 you will want to find a hunting spot with tougher monsters. From the
entrance to Oggok face out into the Feerott, then follow the road (don't take the left turn) and
after some time you will come to a bridge. The monsters on the other side are a fair bit tougher
than the ones you have been fighting but will be much better experience.
Roaming on the other side of the bridge you will find Minor Scarabs and Lizardman Watchers,
these are good experience up to level 9, stay well clear of any Marsh Bears you see. In the
North West corner you will find three camps full of skeletons, you have to be very careful when
hunting them because they will run after you from quite a distance away.
A little east from the camps towards the river you will find a merchant, and a guard, Bouncer
Flerb, if you get too many skeletons this is a good place to head. (sometimes the Bouncer will
wander a little further south)
When you have finished with the skeletons there are many lizard man camps on the island,
these lizards are pretty tough and a minimum of level 8. They can easily take you to level 11 or 12. For further hunting you may want to head
to South Ro or Oasis, to reach South Ro you will need to travel through Innothule Swamp. To get to Innothule first go back over the bridge to the
side the Oggok entrance is on, or return to the Oggok entrance if that is closer.
Then head directly East, when you hit the East Zone wall head South along it. After a minute or
two you should come across an entrance (passageway), if you hit the South wall then you
missed it. This entrance leads to Innothule Swamp, head in. When you zone in follow the left
hand zone wall, you will eventually hit the North wall, when you do continue along it a little way
and you should find another entrance. This leads to South Ro.
Near the Innothule entrance in South Ro there are several Orc Camps, suitable for level 8 and up
and further in, towards the sandy areas, cistern asps, scarabs and spiders. You can also
venture into Oasis which is almost in the middle of the North zone wall. If you head North when
you enter Oasis you will zone into North Ro which is good for level 5 to 15 or so.
Be careful heading North in Oasis and watch out for the lake in the middle of the zone
and the many wandering Orcs.
When in North Ro you will want to stay in the South end if your level 10 or above and if lower
either hunt very carefully or head further North. Its best not to attack the Rattlesnakes because
they have a nasty poison. You should now have a good idea about your options past level
10.
Good Luck with your Ogre!
