Starting out as a Troll  (EQ Races)

(Many help menus will appear during normal play in game if you need them. These detail how to equip items, training, spawning etc.)

When you first enter the world, you will be near your guild master. You should have a note in your inventory that is for him/her. Equip the tunic you are given for the note and wander around your starting area until you find a light purple see through door (it has what looks like three leafs with three smaller blue outlines of leafs in the middle). Now you are in the main courtyard.

Walk down into the courtyard and on the far side should be two ogres large ogres with a cart between them. Go up the ramp next to them. Keep following this ramp, staying to the left, you may have to make a very careful step near the top in order to get between two 'platforms', if you keep going left then you will fall off the platforms onto the ground. Continue following left until you zone into Nektulous Forest.

When you zone in you will see two guards, these are guarding the Neriak entrance (where you started). Walk around this area and fight any monsters that con white to you, you might also be able to kill yellow monsters. For level 1 / 3 pyre beetles, decaying skeletons and spiderlings are fairly easy to kill. Don't worry if you die, you will return to the guards at Neriak. Its best not to attack drakelings until level 3 or so.

When you reach level 3 or 4 you may want to fight harder monsters, if so head straight out from the guards at neriak, until you find a road, when you do head down it to the left. You will find harder monsters along this road, and could easily reach 5 or 6 staying fairly close to Neriak.

Along the road you may come across Deathfist Scouts, these are around level 5 and usually good experience, stay away from the legionairres and templars until at least 9. There are various humanoids around the roads, they tend to be around level 8 (for the high elves, humans) and 5 or 6 for the halflings. Be aware that members of that race will not be happy with you killing them but if they attack you on sight anyway there is no need to worry.

When you reach level 10 or 11, probably from orcs, you will have a much more limited choice of kills, there are some tougher halflings in camps which can take you to 13 or 14 but they can be very hard to kill without their friends helping. You may be able to find some undead (zombies, undead citizens) which are around level 10, but an easier option is often to move to a different zone. Lavastorm mountains is suitable for a level 10 / 11 though if your 13/14 it will be much easier. Return to the guards at Neriak and instead of following the road to the left as you did before, head right. At the end of the road after a short run through a grassy part, you will zone into Lavastorm Mountains.

Here you can fight Goblins, Rock Dervishes, Fire Imps, Fire Drakes and Lava Basilisks. Becareful in this zone because there are some monsters who are much higher than you. If your careful you could easily make level 16/17 here, perhaps higher. At this point you could head into Solesk's Eye (sol A) which is also in Lavastorm Mountains, or head to Oasis, most experienced players will head to Paludal Caverns, you can reach 25 in very little time there.
Whatever you choose, it is usually best when you reach 15 or so to group up with others (the /who 15 all command can be useful in finding people you could group with around your area) and you should no longer need a guide to help you.

Good Luck with your troll!
