Starting Out as a Vah Shir (EQ Races)
When you arrive in Shar Vahl as a level 1
Vah Shir the first thing you will notice is how big everything is. You will
start in the palace at the guild of your class. You will find the rooms are
large and spaced out and it is incredibly easy to get lost in the many
corridors, now is a good time to start using sense heading.
Your first quest once you speak to your
guild master will be too find the Registrah. You will find her near the south
gate inside a building opposite the gate. She will then tell you to speak to the
tax collector and to Mignah to get your personal acrylia slate. Mignah is
upstairs in a tavern where you will find a dancing Vah Shir. The tax collector
is in the bank near the arena.
Once you take the items they give you to
the Registrah you will be sent off to see the King. You should know where the
palace is as you came from there, once you find him you will make one last trip
to the Registrah and then off to your guild master to start your quests. By this
time you will almost be level 2.
Now you can either go into the crater or
to Shadeweavers Thicket. The crater you can enter by climbing down the opposite
side of the gates out of Shar Vahl. Shadeweavers Thicket is through the south
gate.
In the crater you can hunt Grimling
Skeletons and Xakra worms, at level 3 or 4 you can move onto scorpions. At level
7 or 8 you will need to move onto Shadeweavers Thicket to hunt rockhoppers and
skeletons.
You will find most of your quest items
will be on creatures in the crater at the early levels, and then Hollowshade
Moor and Shadeweavers Thicket as you progress. For armor you can hunt nuisances
in Shadeweavers Thicket for dingy. Or return grimling parts to the animist to
feed his hopper in return for leather. There are other quests to obtain armor
and shields but I will leave those for you to find. Weapons shouldn't be a
problem as the guild quests will upgrade your starting one.
If you continue hunting in Shadeweavers
and Hollowshade you will be able to reach level 10 fairly quickly and should be
equipped at least until level 15. By this time you may be able to get a teleport
out of Luclin or know your way around enough to find the zones you prefer.
I hope this guide has helped, good luck
with your Vah Shir!
