Class Descriptions

This page lists combat class descriptions only.

Archtypes

Fighter

Description

Fighters use strength and combat skill to overpower their opponents. Specialising in melee combat gives them training and experience in almost all weapon types with the endurance and stamina to endure the worst of battles. Fighters range from the Ogres: large and strong, to the nimble, agile Ratonga. For tools of the trade many will hone their bodies themselves into weapons while others choose a sturdy shield and a heavy hammer.

Mage

Description

Mages are specialists in arcane magic, preferring to wield magical artifacts and manipulate unseen forces than to engage in melee combat. Physically weak but formidable from a distance, they choose their fights carefully in their continual quest for greater fame, knowledge and power.

Priest

Description

When a member of a party is injured it will be the healing power of a Priest that cleanses and heals their wounds. Priests can call upon the mystical and divine to aid companions and supplement their combat abilities. Many are capable of wearing heavy armour and wading into battle, while others stand back, overseeing the combat in a generals position.

Scout

Description

The scouts trademark skill is stealth, whether scouting an area or preparing for an attack they stay silent and unseen. While not fearing direct combat a scouts skill becomes somewhat limited; their training with ranged weapons and fast blades is aided when their opponent is taken by surprise. Many choose to develop a single element of their abilities, becoming assassins, rangers or rogues.

Classes

Warrior

Description

The warrior is most at home when in direct combat, standing toe to toe with the enemy. They have basic training in all weapon types, usually preferring one or two over another as they develop. Warriors will be the toughest member of any adventuring party and though they may specialise in different areas, will always be able to take and deal a good beating.

Crusader

Description

The crusader is a divine warrior, calling upon the power of their gods to aid their exceptional combat abilities. Crusaders usually prefer a more traditional style of combat, preferring one on one duels to large scale battles. When preparing for battle they will usually choose either a shield with a mace or blade, or a heavy (often ornate) two handed sword.

Brawler

Description

What a brawler may lack in finesse and agility, it is more than made up for in power and toughness. They are a considered a body builder of sorts, using their abnormal strength to beat opponents into a bloody pulp. Though when the situation requires one, brawlers are capable of wielding more primitive weapons. They favour those that take advantage of their raw power and strength; among them are huge two handed hammers, clubs, maces and the simple wooden staff.

Sorcerer

Description

The sorcerer specialises in destructive magic, harnessing the unseen forces to create devastating effects on the landscape and those that walk it. In a similar manner to the brawler though in a magical sense, a sorcerer is a magician that focuses on raw power and strength. They are capable of weakening their opponents through basic mystical attacks but in destruction a sorcerer always finds a forte.

Enchanter

Description

The enchanter is able to use subtle techniques to manipulate and influence minds, combining natural skills with the magical arts to persuade others to assisting them. In addition to these somewhat passive abilities an enchanter has some limited knowledge in direct offensive magic and progressively more powerful enchantments. These include weakening and at later levels crippling their opponents ability to function at a basic level and expanding the enchanters own intellect for a short time. Types of enchantment vary according to skill and knowledge but at any level an enchanter is unchallenged in their trademark art.

Summoner

Description

The summoner is capable of both conjuring live creatures and in some branches of their profession, raising the dead. A great deal of a summoners combat ability rests on the power of their servant, unlike many other arcane professions they have only a limited selection of spells that will directly affect an opponent.

Bard

Description

A Bards weapon is verse and song, often bringing only light armour and instruments into battle. When called upon in direct combat bards have some limited training to aid them, able to use practically every weapon type though often not with a great degree of mastery. Their agility and flexibility are their most useful characteristics, supplemented by the varied capabilities of their songs. The bard inspires and motivates, a balancing act for a parties mood; with the ability to lead by example in many different combat roles should the situation require it.

Rogue

Description

The rogue is an opportunist, whether it be wealth or in combat they are willing and able to take advantage of any opening that comes their way. Trained to a basic level in many weapon types and wearers of any armour up to chain, the rogue can hold their own against similar opponents. Though capable of dealing with direct combat, rogues prefer to use stealth to make that first attack decisive. Precision, speed and opportunity combine to create the trademark operations performed by a rogue.
