8th April 2005
I have
had a question sent in from a visitor, as part of the FAQ section, it wasn't
really the kind of question I'm looking for there, but I'm happy to answer it
here:
From
'Randy', the question is: (EQ) There is a Gnome in front of the gates of West
Freeport. Who is he and what is he famous for selling?
I have
had a look around the gates and I can't find a gnome but I did notice Boomba the
Big who is an ogre, who is quite a well known character and famous for selling
pickles, more specifically pickles of paladins, gnomes and dwarves, with a few
more in his inventory too.
Not sure
if this was more a challenge than a question, but I think that's the answer your
looking for!

All
issues with the site should be fixed, comments and contact forms are now working
again.
15th November
2004
The site
experienced some very limited downtime due to the domain change but the pages should now
all be working correctly, unfortunately the comments and contact form are not
currently working. For now if you want to get in touch, please email me at
nerishau @ eqcircle.com (without the spaces).

EQ Races has
changed its name to EQ Circle, this reflects the more general nature of the
site, but it still remains 'dedicated to the races and new player of EverQuest.'
28th October
2004
Though old
news to many its new news to me: Development has halted on Dragon Empires
http://www.dragonempires.com/ due to
technical issues, that as far as I can gather, prevented the game hosting enough
players to launch as a MMORPG.
27th October
2004
Added an
introduction to the Lost Dungeons of Norrath expansion, which can be found under
the Hunting Articles category here.
In other
news, the Official release date for EverQuest 2 has been announced by Sony
Online Entertainment. Both European and US release has been set at the 8th of
November 2004 (TBC). There are many murmurings of bugs, lag and the game being
released before it is finished. Lets hope the rumours are indeed only rumours,
or there are will be many frustrated fans this coming November.

press release on the Official EQ 2 site:

Races]
The
next batch of screenshots are up, this time they are for the Character
screenshots, a link to which is located on each races home page. If you 'posed'
for me thanks for your help! I have updated the contributor list which can be
found here.

[EQ
Races]
The
Screenshots that I was taking Friday night have been posted to the relevant
class area, if yours still isn't up then let me know.
If your
new to EverQuest they should give you some idea of what your class is going to
look like and the equipment they can wear.
There is
now a contributor list up right
here on the forums, if you
helped me with the screenshots your name will be there. Thanks for your help
people!!

[EQ 2]
For those
with dial-up modems, you may want to download the official EQ 2 movies instead
of running them on the fly (only the official trailer has a download link
provided). So I have put up some links that you can use to Save Target As on
them, here.
Just for
those who are new, I had nothing to do with the creation of the movies and I
don't provide the space/bandwidth that you use to download them. I'm just
putting up a link as otherwise when you click them they try to load in your
browser, unfortunately as far as I'm aware you can't do right click, save target
as when the webpage is flash.
23rd July 2004
Added a
FAQ and continuing to work through the class areas. The FAQ is very much in the
early stages and will be divided up into the relevant sections when I have
enough of it put together. If you have any questions for the FAQ (you don't need
the answer) please send them to me using the contact form
or post them on the forums in the FAQ
topic, under the Feedback section.

I'd
really like to know what all you visitors out there (I know there are at least a
couple, my site statistics say so!) are looking for when you come to EQ Races.
If what your looking for isn't here yet and is EQ related, I will do my best to
get working on it or add a link to somewhere that already has it.
If you'd
like to leave feedback or have anything else you might want to comment on please
either email me using the contact form or post a
message on the feedback forum. Neither method requires any form of registration or the use
of outlook express (or any other mail program) except to participate in polls
for obvious reasons.
Added
Class Areas to the navigation on the left, I will go through each class and provide
a small description and a few tips. Please feel free to tell me what you think
on the forums or use the comments
form at the bottom of the new class pages.
I
apologise to anyone who has emailed me at
admin@eqraces.com or used a comments form in the last few days. The problem causing a delivery error is
fixed and the mailbox should be receiving email and comments forms correctly from now on. I am in
the process of attempting to recover those emails lost but if you can resend the
message in the mean time I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
for your patience with this problem.
In
preparation for the release of EverQuest 2 EQ Races has had a small redesign.
Links related to this site, such as about and contact are now up the top of the
navigation and it has been split into 3 sections to accommodate both versions of
EverQuest.
As always
any feedback is much appreciated and thanks for visiting!

The re-organization
has finished and I have written and added 3
new Starting Out guides,
Dwarf,
Erudite
and
Ogre.
Click the links or view the complete list of Starting Out articles
here.
The
site is being re-organized and this may result in some down time on the 21st and
22nd of February. Most of the changes are 'in the background' and there should
be no significant cosmetic or navigation changes. Sorry
for any viewing troubles during this time and thanks for visiting!
Note:
800 x 600 screen resolution should be better supported after the changes.
Content updated to reflect the launch of Gates of Discord and the new class,
Berserker.
The following races may play as a
Berserker: Barbarian, Dwarf, Ogre, Troll and Vah Shir.
Due to some problems in retrieving the site from back-ups some pages may have
navigation or content errors that have previously been fixed. These will be
corrected and if you sent me information about a bug I still have it and will go
through those emails again.
Happy
New Year!!!
